Recording Music

See what its like to write a pop tune or

score a soundtrack to a movie. Using a
computer, synthesizer and digital
sampler, we create songs exactly like
musicians in recording studios. Songs
could be pieces learned on the piano or
original tunes that we are composing.

Students don't need to learn any
software. They simply play the parts and
I handle all the computer tasks. As
students play they see the notes appear
as sheet music instantly on the computer
screen. This immediate visual and
auditory reinforcement, makes musical
and rhythmic concepts easily understood
Students swiftly gain confidence in
their abilities. Learning is fun and
rewarding. Those interested in composing
and recording their own or other music
can spend their entire studio time
arranging, recording and editing their songs.

Arrangements can include many
instruments. Pieces are played either on
the piano or MIDI keyboard. MIDI
recordings can include unlimited number
of tracks and instruments including
Pianos, Guitars, Wind instruments,
Brass, Strings, Bass, Percussion &
Drums, and Sound Effects. Over 6,000
different instruments are available.
Mixer Reverb

Each part is played and recorded into a

Sequencing program as a MIDI file. I
then complete the recording process.
Songs are edited for correct Notes,
Timing, and Velocity (volume).
Left-Right Panning and overall Volumes
are set. When the piece sounds good, the
MIDI file is converted into Digital Audio
in a Multitrack Digital Audio program.
Then the song can be Mixed in 16 bit
audio. EQ, Compression, Limiting,
Reverb, and other Effects can be added
to individual tracks. The final stereo
mix is then saved and transferred into
an Audio Mastering Editor where
Trimming, Fadeouts, and Normalizing is
performed. Then a CD Burning program is
used to create the CD Master. Finally
the front, back, and CD label graphics
are designed and printed. Viola!, a CD
that looks and sounds terrific.
